Sugar-Free Kheer (Indian Rice Pudding)

Traditional Indian kheer made with Off Sugar — authentic taste, zero added sugar, perfectly safe for diabetics and keto dieters.

Ingredients Needed

  • 1 litre full-cream milk
  • ¼ cup basmati rice, washed
  • 3–4 tbsp DailyOrigins Off Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4–5 green cardamom pods, crushed (or ½ tsp cardamom powder)
  • A few strands of saffron, soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds and pistachios)
  • 1 tsp dried rose petals, or ½ tsp rose water (optional)

Step-by-Step Directions

1

Bring milk to a boil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add washed rice.

2

Reduce heat to low-medium and cook, stirring frequently, for 25–30 minutes until rice is soft and milk thickens.

3

Remove from heat. Stir in Off Sugar until fully dissolved — add while milk is still warm.

4

Add cardamom powder, saffron milk, and rose water. Stir well.

5

Garnish with pistachios and almonds. Serve warm or refrigerate and serve chilled.

6

Note: Off Sugar's sweetness intensifies slightly on cooling — taste and adjust before refrigerating.
